This post is dedicated to a dear friend of mine, Norlisa Soraya or as we call her, Lisa or Liss :)

She's going away to further her studies in the UK soon.. She'll be leaving Malaysia early January.. One thing about her is that she's a very popular (muahaha!) girl, so it's very hard for us to actually go out with her unless we made an appointment or some sort with her first..

About 2 weeks ago we planned to go for a karaoke session, but the plan got canceled.. thus I promised her I'll make it up to her...

...by playing badminton like we used to for one last time.. atleast for now *innocent smiles*

I can say that she really knows me quite well.. I guess because she's a good listener.. Everytime we got stressed out, we will go out just the two of us to the lake and just talk, sing out loud, share our problems and simply pour our heart out on each other.. we've been doing that for almost 3 years already.. No one actually knows where we went as we don't talk about it.. it's just our little secret.. well now you guys know about it *laughs*

I should've post this a long time ago. So this is me with 1 month ++ moustache..

At first.. I thought I looked uglier than I was without a moustache.. but after a long stare at both photos.. I think I seriously look better with a mo.. hahaha.. I dunno, what do you guys think? *giggles*

sure I kept my moustache for a month in commemmorading the month of Moustache November or "Movember", but this is actually bigger than that. It's a commitment.

You see guys, I got some commitment issues.. with anything that I do or even with someone.. I guess, keeping my moustache for a month is like a challenge for me..

I'm that kinda guy that easily get tired of consistenty and unchangeable-ness *ok that's gibberish* For my moustache situation.. every 2 weeks or so I would've get rid of it.. but Movember kinda gave me the chance to fight my urge to shave my moustache off..

I want to try to commit to it hoping that I would teach myself to become a more commited person than I was before.. In my logic, if keeping a moustache for a month is already hard, try doing something that you have endure for a longer time for example, a job? a relationship? Or even a marriage..alrighty now I'm way out of line *laughs histerically*

first things first though.. keeping my moustache for a month has been check out of my to-do list.. currently my commitment is to work my ass off in completing my final year project, eat a healthy diet and exercise atleast 3 times a week.. and I gotta tell you.. all of them are goddamn hard than keeping a mo on your face *duhhhh*

We changed how we celebrate Eid this year.. I guess.. we'll be changing how we celebrate anything from now on..

Briefly after Eid prayer, the whole family went straight to my Grandpa's musollah or in malay 'surau'.. where my Grandma and Mak Cidah were buried.. there lies their graves..

It's almost 100 days my Mak Cidah passed away.. so we did a tahlil ceremony for her and my Grandma.. after that we had a small family lunch at my oldest aunt's... her house is just in the musollah's compound.. Not to forget, we did celebrate my cousin's 26th birthday as well..

Wow this is my 300th post! Alhamdulillah, I'm still loyal to my readers *crickets sound*.. Anyway, the reason I'm writing this post is to tell you that this the month of November.. or actuallly MOVEMBER!

I have to say.. of all the good thing this short animation can offer me.. I really love the rendering.. the wood-like shading and harsh lighting.. it gave me the whole miniature look... In addition.. I love the pencil like strokes on the characters.. kudos to the art direction!

Another unmistakably coincidence that cannot be unseen! The core storyline is exactly the same as another short animation that I stumble upon quite sometime ago..

But this one got this dreamy cum imaginative kinda groove goin on.. again, kudos to the art direction with the rendering..

It ain't easy being green... Green Lantern... was decent. I went to see with my ex-officemates they other day.. just to reward myself after my first ever final year project presentation...

I didn't read the comic book series before.. so I'm sure by the end of the review a lot 'Lanterns' gonna be somewhat piss.. hahahaha

Well first of all.. I love the concept of Green Lantern.. with willpower, you can turn your imagination into reality and use your will power to protect the universe... pretty decent concept for a superhero.. the core of the concept just blew me away.. because usually superheroes then to have super powers that were caused by something else for example spiderman who got bitten by a spider... Event though Batman doesn't have super power, He has all his gadgets and weapon to fight evil... but not Green Lantern.. all you got is a ring that conveys your imagination into something physical and workable based on your willpower... if your willpower is not strong enough, your imagination will not be strong as well... pretty deep stuff huh...

When we talked about imagination.. we tend to say that the weirder the imagination is, the better.. and that's where the story lacks... The Protagonist only imagine all the things that are already common.. like sword to fight.. armour to deflect bullets... a race car and a track to block a hellicopter from crashing into a crowd of people *laughs* I wish he could imagine something out of the norm.. something that we the audience have never seen before.. but I guess he's only human.. *giggles*

In terms of story telling... I think there's too much to show in so little time until you forgot about some part of the plot.. that's my opinion... The film didn't show a lot of scene of the Green lanterns' planet... which was kinda sad considering I love how they create the planet... but the dialogue was nice.. it has some charming moments.. For VFX... top notch dude... you won't regret watching all those effects..

As for casting... well what can I say.. I am a huge fan of Ryan Reynolds.. and Blake Lively *gasp for air* was a bombshell in the movie...

If you're a big superheroes fan.. then you're gonna love watching this one... especially the kids... But right now, Thor is the superhero movie for me...

well there you have it.. pretty pissed aren't you.. haha..

Neil Patrick Harris in the MAN! He surely is... kudos to the people who came up with the musical.. it's fantastic until Brooke Shields forgot her lines... Now I don't know whether she really messed up or it's just a gimmick.. if she messed up, the musical wasn't interrupted and went on a smooth sail...

This type of showmanship is what lacking in the Malaysia entertainment industry... I always ask myself "how come Malaysian hosts can't be more like American hosts?" I mean, you don't see them holding que cards everywhere they go... or being so "Kecoh-kecoh"... I guess this is where dedication, discipline and professionalism comes in...

Just a few questions for you guys to ponder upon... I thought this was charming... the whole time I was watching this video... I kept saying to myself.. "hey, this is what I learn in university..." you know, to make movies and stuff... and this guy did a short movie of his proposal... damn I feel so low right now...

This video simply shouts to me that, even the simplest ideas can be shown in a humongous scale.. it's like a juxtaposition; Proposal + cinema... 2 different things.. but what you jumble those two.. see what you got.. a freaking movie! Well this is how interpret it *giggles*

Rio: life's a carnival.

So I went to see Rio at the cinema with Ajinda.. so what.. so what?? it's frigging awesome that's what... So here's my review on Rio..

I'll try not to touch more on the technical side of it... lets start off with the storyline. For me, I guess the main theme would be freedom. Simple as that.. the plot is not mind blowing; get caught - meet strangers - goes on great adventures - beat the bad guys.. don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to spoil the synopsis, but that's basically the summarization of the plot in the movie...

I've always telling saying that the story is very important.. but Rio came up with a pretty normal-nothing-out-of-the-universe kinda story but it's still pretty good.. I guess I liked the script enough to make me forget about the storyline that much... Have you guys seen the animated feature Bolt? Yes, about the reality TV dog on a mission to find his master.. along the way, he befriends a cat and a hamster and went on a journey across America to find his masters... exactly like Rio.. with a couple of exceptions and originality... There's one chasing scene in the film that reminds me of a shortfilm I saw about 2 years ago..

Besides the script, the amazing voice actors really did an amazing job giving life to their respected characters.. Jessie Eisenberg as I quote from my twitter feed, "Would make a great talking macaw." His character, Blu is perfect for him just like Jack Black as Po in Kungfu Panda. Anne Hathaway's voice is always nice to my ears I can never have enough of George Lopez's smart talk.. even as a family-guy puffin *laughs*

Another plus point for Rio is the colour. Although the colour scheme to almost every scene is very colourful.. it's pleasing to the eyes.. usually when there is so many colours the eyes tend to get hurt and you can't seem to

tell where's the focus point in that scene.. but in Rio.. every colours compliment each other to create this harmonious balance...

Last but not least, the music in the movie suits the carnival-ness *if that's a plausible notion* life that the movie tries to portray.I'm lost for words why I adore Rio so much.. Final words for Rio; Charming and colouful. Well I guess that's my say on Rio.. do watch it with your family and friends and enjoy the beautiful and colouful life of Brazil while you're at it. Founded at TheDailyWhat. It's a wedding invitation card. What?? Don't believe me? hahaah.. well you should and I simply adore it! If I ever get married *fingers crossed* I would love to have my wedding invitation just like this.. better yet, I would love to make one!

It is claimed that this badaas invitation card was made by the groom itself Manuel Morgado (He may or may not be) who is in fact an illustrator.. and no I don't mean the software guys (LAME! *high pitch voice*). Even though it's a wedding.. something that we will always cherish it for the rest of our lives, depending on how we love our partners *giggles*.. it's always good to know not to take everything so seriously.. like using Monotype Corsiva-ish kinda typefaces on the wedding invitation card.. That to me IS taking things a lil bit serious.. hahaha..

Wow... it seems like forever since I've last posted something here... and the latest posts are usually music.. I need to find something fresh, something cool, something from me.. and something worth posting about...

Well, this post however, is about music.. But don't worry guys... I have my found myself some good materials that are worth posting *wink*wink*

If I need an inspiration, and surely indeed I need... Nick Pitera's "One Man Disney Movie" is the right thing to listen for an epiphany bursting in you head.

I don't know bout you guys, but I'm a total sucker for all the classic Disney films. When I hear this magical collage of songs, I remembered all the Disney VHS tape I have, sing-a-long with the siblings and cousins, saying-the-dialog-before-they-even-being-said-in-the-film moments *hahaha get it?*

Only then I can think clearly... innocently... I can say that my source of inspiration came a lot from my innocent childhood.. It's cheesy but doesn't make it any less true... and by saying this, I have obtained inspiration ladies and gentlemen!

So I really hope you listen to it and feel what I felt when I listen to it.. plus, can you name all the movie that are being featured in this wonderful medley? *Smile*

Thanks to Mr Fariz Hanapiah for showing to me this video for the first time last week... now I'm stuck with this song.. Fariz and I had this debate earlier about the girl in the video.. I said she looks like Scarlett Johansson and Fariz said she looks more like Jessica Alba.. after much consideration... we have come to a conclusion that she looks more like Jessica Alba.. He sure has a sharp eyes!

My grandma passed away last Saturday.. it was a dreadful time for the whole family...

I woke up at 11 am that day... I took my phone to look at the time, then I found out that my dad text me about half an hour before... "Nenek dah meinggal." I was a bit blurry and I couldn't believe what I saw... I immediately called him.. He was in a rush.. he said the my family is packing up and gonna leave Penang for Lenggeng, Negeri Sembilan.

Up at that time I knew this wasn't no nightmare.. it's happening... I got up from bed.. freshen up.. and off I'm headed to my Aunt's..

Honestly, the whole 1 hour drive.. I was utterly confused.. I didn't know what to feel anymore.. sad? angry? what am I feeling right now.. it was all a big mess in my head that time... the radio was on.. but I wasn't singing along... I kept thinking of how all this could've happened...

As I got to my Aunt's.. it was already 1 pm and a lot of people were there... I hopped out of my car and my Uncle Lan told me that Grandma was in the living room.. There she was... covered by a long white clean cloth.. People were sitting around her reciting the Yasin.. including my youngest Aunt, Mak Nor..

I came near her, she just hugged me very tightly like she doesn't wanna let me go.. She explained everything to me... But I was silent... I grab a Yasin booklet and sat right next to my grandma...

So I started reciting the Yasin.. but again.. I was emotionless.. I dunno what is this feeling I'm currently having right now.. Then people came to see her.. So they unveil the white cloth to see her face.. She looked so peaceful.. Only then I lost.. I cried... a lot.. I was still figuring out why am I crying so bad.. I knew.. I will never see my grandma ever again.. I kept watching at her tummy.. hoping to see movement of inhaling and exhaling.. but that was wishful thinking.. At that moment.. upon seeing her face.. I was trembling.. Every verse of the Yasin I recited was unclear... I couldn't contained myself any further..

Briefly after finished reciting the Yasin.. I got up, wept my tears and went to see my cousins and aunties and uncles.. my family wasn't here yet... they were still halfway... Among my relatives.. Mak Nor was devastated the most.. She kept crying and crying.. She couldn't hold it together... After awhile.. I sat next to my grandma again.. besides me was my cousin, Ana.. we talk about grandma for awhile.. Then I told her I wanted to kiss grandma.. she wanted as well.. so we came near grandma and unveil the white cloth.. Before I kissed her, I whisper at the ear " I guess my wish of you seeing me getting married will not be coming true Nenek" I kissed her forehead a few times.. It was very cold...

About half and hour later.. my family arrived.. I only hugged my mom briefly as she was in a hurry to see grandma... They were ready to bathed her... Right after bathing grandma.. they will 'kapan' (I dunno the english word for it) her...

Then the process of 'kapan' is complete.. it's time for the family to say goodbye to grandma before her face is closed for good... When it's time to put her in the carrier, I sat next to her head so I can carry her.. I cried again... We carried her to the van and my cousin Razi and I were the only people to accompany her in that van..

We arrived at the mosque... we got out of the van and joined the jemaah for Asar prayer... After that, we took grandma out of the van to perform the Jenazah prayer upon her..

My granddad once told some of us that he wanted his family to be buried at his surau *musolla*.. at that's what we did.. We reached granddad's surau... There I saw, a hole 6 feet deep... When the time they put grandma at the "liang lahad" that was probably the most emotional part for all of us... Everybody was hugging each other and some of us couldn't even look... For me, I was so sad as I was literally burying my own grandma with the shovel at my hands..

The minute we finished burying her, tears started rolling down like the rain during the monsoon season.. That time, I really couldn't control myself..

And so my 2nd year as a university student ends yesterday.. hopefully.. I send my DVD submission to my lecturer's room and everything seems at peace.. I can finally breathe for a moment.. sure I have 2 papers this coming week but we're FCMers don't really care much about exam... it's the final project submissions that's keeping us worry the whole semester.. that's OUR papers..

GO CRESCENT!

CRESCENT! Yep.. that's what we'll always shout before our game start... Yesterday was our last match for the semester... it was against Nemesis... and guess what.. We won!

3-0 dude! after every match, we would always review our gameplay, and after every match our team gets better.. and the last match was the finest! Even though we were 11 guys and there were only played with 9... so we kinda had the advantage.. that doesn't mean we were overconfident and looked down on our opponent..

All in all.. of all the 9 matches we had during this semester, this is our first win... we had a draw and 7 losses.. *laughs* what can I say... we're a team that is constantly improving... but I have to say.. I our greatest defeat was against Kacang FC where they beat us at a staggering 5 to nothing... I mean.. how bad can you play until you conceded 5 goals?? hahahah..

Another defining moment was when we drew with Atletico Assaceno... Both our goals came from our superstar player Andiano.. yep that's his real name... and both of the goals were from a long range freekick...

I have to say our team highlight was when we lost to Barcala FC... little known fact.. majority of the players from Barcala are close friends of us and we even train on the same field like next to each other.. so there's this rivalry going on between us.. but there's no need to fear.. it's all good competition... Even though it's just a mere 2-1 defeat, we felt good because we controlled the game especially the 2nd half.. we were just out of luck in the scoring department... plus one of their goals was a penalty shoot out.. Never the less.. a goal is still a goal.. a goal can differentiate a team between winning and losing..

Futuristic Vintage

Was doing my UV layout on Maya ever so hardworking-ly and suddenly my graphic card crashed.. it's normal but I was really into my work.. thus killing my mood ever to start again.. non the less, I did save what I had before my PC went gay...

Anyway.. on my Tumblr's dashboard, The Daily What posted a new music video from She and Him...

I adore She and Him... it's indie.. it's so 70s and it's soooo Zooey Deschanel! What's wrong about that right.. I like the creative direction of this music video.. it's started out like one of those American retro educational video, not that I know what they really are.. I just assume as that's what the convey in the television. Well the educational video was a brief story about the future... but hold your horses there sunny! What they did is that they interpret the future was being so vintage and retro-ish.... it's so cool having to see all the gadgets and machines like in the 80s sci-fi movie... upon looking at the set, I kinda relate it to the game, The Sims; minimalistic.

When I think of the future, I can only think of music like Daft Punk, Ratatat or even Black Eyed Peas... but in this particular futuristic interpretation, the music is indie pop and I like the feel of it..

In this music video.. I can really understood the phrase "Back to The Future"... *laughs!* How cheesy was that!

My latest work with my Canon 60D... I know it's not my best work.. not that I have any... but I feel good about it...

For all of you who are a technical junkie out there... I used After Effects' motion tracker for the first shot... I wanted to use the motion tracker for all the typography but the video I shoot was not good at all as the tracking points aren't as clear and detail as I want them to be...

There were a couple of shots where I use a plugin call Twixtor to make them slow-mo. There's the shot where Mein was holding the Rantai.Art Event flyer and Ecah... For Ecah.. the slow-mo part was actually quite fast but you can see the slow-mo effect on her hair...

As for the ending part... I don't have that much time so "The End" was the only thing I could muster up... I started editing the video around 3am until 9am... I slept soon after that and woke up at 12 to add the music... and owh by the way... the music I selected is Fader by Temper Trap.. but this is the Adam Freeland Remix.. eargasm!!!!

I like to thank Mein, Ecah, Syira and Alia for giving me the opportunity to make this video for their Cyberprenuership group, Pixelotts... I would like to request to be the Pixelotts official photographer and videographer... hahaha... I'll hand in my resume and portfolio first thing in the morning.. *wink*wink*

I but gotta say, Erin Markey potrayed the girl singing this song so psychotic and desperate! Come to think of it.. the lyrics kinda sound creepy and psychotic at the same time when you look at a different perspective..

I bet most of you guys would feel the same way listening to Erin Markey's cover... To me.. She's good... she got that broadway-ish voice and she acts while she's singing... that's hard... I really love the ending part of the cover where she changed her vocal chords to imitate the cliche voice of the devil...

Candid Happiness

I cherish the simplest thing that life has to offer me. So everytime I see people especially my friends laughs and smiles without me noticing... there's this sudden burst of happiness inside of me.. I feel like an audience watching this sitcom called "Life". *ok poyo*

Little known fact about me is that I really love to snap pictures of people without them noticing.. sometimes I feel like a part-time paparazi *laughs* But most of the time I feel like I'm capturing those really innocent, meaningful and true moments of my life.

Everytime I flash my Iphone or my camera.... I'm hoping that the person I'm looking thru the viewfinder is not noticing... so that his/her expressions are real and not posing for the sake of looking good in the photo. Sometimes when I got caught trying to take their pictures.. they often smile for pose... it's okay but the innocence is gone... I'm that fussy... for example, a friend of mine is telling a really scary story with the expressions included... but as I try to snap his picture, he tried to smile.. so I failed to capture a very expressive story-teller and I got just another pose-for-the-camera kinda picture..

Get what I mean; priceless expressions!

I always like to show the photo I took to them as I hope that they could see the beauty I see... But lets be frank... most of you guys know I love taking pictures of people sleeping.. cuz I don't sleep! hahahaha...

Peter "Phenomenal" Fennema

Actually there's no phenomenal in his name.. I just created the nickname.. and I'll tell you why...

I can't sleep... tired of doing my work.. so I went to my #1 website; Youtube... usually to seek funny, inspirational, reference videos... but mostly to listen to songs that are not on my playlist... what to do right.. it's 5am in the morn and I was feeling kinda blue, straight away I search the song Sempurna by Andra and the Backbone, a very beautiful love song... shortly after that... on the search list, I saw this...

I was really amazed that this man sang in fluent Bahasa Indonesia... I know many people have, but often they speak, not sing fluently... On the description of the video... he put a link of another website (MyIndo.com) which was an interview he did and explained all on why he sings Indonesian songs...

I just love how French people talk... the way they pronounce every single word are so dramatic... Just like this little toddler here.. Don't you just love how she story tells... an it's always entertaining when the woman's voice, the mother I presume acted all surprised and shocked when Capucine is telling the story... it makes the little girl more enthusiastic...

When watching this video.. the only thing I can think of is this little girl reminded me of Audey tautou in the movie Amelie... oh how I love this movie...

Left Knee: BUSTED!

I busted my knee during football training yesterday evening... and I gotta tell you.. the pain is excruciating! agonizing!

It was a long through ball from the midfield... and I was the stopper.. so I stretched out my left leg to intercept the ball.. it was a beautiful first touch I've ever made in my life as it was in mid air... I was like Zidane! To my dismay.. my landing was a bit off as the field was slippery due to the rain.. So I guessed I twisted my knee...

After clearing the ball.. I tried to walk.. but I couldn't... but I fought the pain.. I tried to stand up straight.. Then I felt this pain on my left knee.. after a few steps I collapsed onto the ground.. I close my eyes as hard as I could.. but I could hear my teamates talking to me... I was so much in pain until tears started rolling down.. thank god all the shorties *laughs* was no where to be found nearby.. if not.. uncool! *giggles*

not bad for a short story eh... well.. I'm gonna go to a clinic to have my knee check up... 2 to 3 weeks I'll be on the sidelines.. pfftt...

We meet again fellow bloggers! It's been like almost a month I haven't post anything new... well.. this post.. has nothing to do with funny stuff... or my work and my inspirations..

This post is about moi... most of you guys know.. I like playing around with my hairstyles.. right now.. I've made a pact with a friend of mine that both of us are not gonna cut our hair for a year... it's been like almost 2 months now from the time we made that pact.. suddenly I have this sudden urge to cut my hair again..

After much consideration.. I might get a haircut.. in 3 months time.. *laughs* but not that drastic.. just a lil trim and layered cut here and there... Maybe I won't... But what I really want is the asymmetrical look when my hair on both sides of my head are not at the same length.. *guys keep up with me* hahaha.. kinda like this,

I lack in observation.. need to see things more carefully... I need to realize all the tiny details that can make a huge difference when it comes to texturing and modeling...

Nini, Me, and Acap in an Open Talk session

We haven't done this in awhile.. we called it "open talk"... by definition it means opening up your opinions to people in the circle... well.. it's kinda like pillow talk...

This ritual was born about 4 years ago by yours trully and his close friends...

The Pioneers

Usually what we opened up was who did we had a crush on.. who do we hate and why.. you know.. teenagers stuff *giggles* Our first open talk session was in a car.. a Perodua Kancil to be exact... after dinner, we head to the gas station to fill up gas... but then we decided to stop and talk...

Soon... we invited more close friends in this open talk session.. and more secrets revealed which meant more secrets to be kept... Before we even start the session, we will always remind each other that what happened there, stayed there.. What I like about this open talk is that we tend to give advice and help to one another to solve one's problem.. but sometimes it led to a gossip frenzy which I'm not particularly proud of.. But sometimes it's just uncovering the truth from the rumours...

Most open talk we had happened randomly... it will always be someplace quiet and calm... and fellow open-talkers *LMAO* will sit in a circle... Lately we haven't done this anymore.. I guess there's nothing worth opening up to.. maybe just yet.. heheee...

sometimes it can be somewhat frustrating when people don't actually understand what we do. Just the other day I was having a conversation with a good friend of mine. He said "I don't really know how to explain to people when they asked me what I do. I told them I'm doing VFX and they were like "what?" So I just told them when people can't really make real explosion in the movie.. that's where I come in with my computer. And they were like "oooo". " hahah.. I just laugh...

Still having problems with texturing *Mr Jijoe is gonna kill me*... I'm glad the camera matching is almost perfect... the images above are just a few composition test.. note that I haven't test out the lighting yet..

Things to finalize:

1) Texturing.. creating the UV layout is such a #$%^*!

2) Set up the lighting that best represent the photo

3) Modelling... If I have the time and inspiration.. I'll add more detail... no 1 and 2 is top priority!

I've been watching this video for 3 days straight... everytime I watch this freaking video.. I just crack up with high pitch laughter and you guys know that when I laughed with such high pitch... that thing gotta be funny as hell.. *laughs*

I guess why this video is freaking funny is cuz this dude is so cool! Even when he realized he was being recorded.. he continued anyway just to humour his friends I guess... I wish I could be cool like him... sadly.. I'm used to being the guy who records stuff like this

Christopher Hendryx Produced this bubbly animation as his thesis for the Department of Computer Animation at the Ringling College of Art and Design. What I like about this animation is the simplicity of it. I like how he created the story using the elements from the periodic table as characters. Genius! All the characters are actually attending an element-ary school.. hahaha
